methodoc
Hello all need some help. I've installed Snow Leopard using a couple of methods, I've used a distro and an original SL disk. No matter which method I use, after the install I only get a Gray Apple logo boot screen. I decided to install using the OSXinstall.mpkg method but now I get a boot logo with the "please press the power button to restart" with some errors in the background. I've rebooted with -v -f, the screen displays a bunch of what looks like device IDs (ox000000f sort of) and a Mac OS: Not yet set. I can get a screen shot if needed. I'm currently running 10.5.6 on another partition with no problems. I've posted my specs below. MB: Asus P5Q3 (with Juzzi's modified bios) Video: MSI ATI Radeon 4870 512MB Memory: 4GB DDR3 1333mhz HD: 1TB Hitachi Any help is greatly appreciated. Does the boot screen go away to be replaced by some other gray (blank) screen? In that case you need to boot with -x and fix your gfx card in order for it to work. The screen stays up with the apple boot logo, I gave it about 3 hours but no change. I will try you suggestion and get back to you. Also, I found another post that advised to install Chameleon RC3. There's no package installer yet. I tried using Empire EFI to boot and was able to hear the sound at the beginning of the Mac OS setup but all I get is a text screen, can't type. I agree is the gfx card. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/195508-no-snow-love-for-asus-p5q3/#findComment-1318384 Share on other sites
milessx
i think you should put the EVOenabler.kext file into your extra/extension if you use chameleon or put the EVOenabler.kext into your darwin/librarysl/extension,this is not the problem with your installation disk, its graphic card's problem...i hope this can help you, im also the new player..hah Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/195508-no-snow-love-for-asus-p5q3/#findComment-1342452 Share on other sites
