Tomdarkness
--EDIT-- Still getting random boots - sometimes it boots and other times it does not. See below for details Booted again, this time with no ps2 keyboard working. Hey, I've just installed iATKOS v7 and the first time I rebooted it got stuck at: "Using new IRQ layout 0,1" Which I fixed by setting the hard drive controller on my IP35 mobo (jmicron) to ACPI mode from IDE. I booted and used OSX successfully for a while. However, when I rebooted (Still in ACPI mode) I get stuck at the same position (No kernel panics or anything just displays "Using new IRQ layout 0,1" with a console text pointer on a new line) Anyone got and ideas? Thanks Tom Hmm, seems removing hard drives apart from the one with osx on fixes this issue. Also when I went to reboot it (which is when I first noticed the problem) it does the shutdown stuff but then it does not physically reboot the machine (ACPI problem?) Upon shutting down from osx it won't start up properly again. This time is stops on: "Extension "com.apple.driver.AppleACPIPlatform" has immediate dependencies on both com.apple.kernel and com.apple.kpi components; use only one style." Whats with the "pot luck" with getting it to boot? Oh, back to "Using new IRQ layout 0,1" again >.> Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/195231-boot-stuck/ Share on other sites
ergosteur
my Core 2 Duo upgraded Aspire 5570Z hangs at "using new irq layout" too. The only way i managed to get past this is by using the "cpus=1" boot flag. did you find a better fix?
