I installed 10.4.6 to a primary partition via VMware and it boots fine, runs great (posting this from my OSX install on VMware actually)

Now, i've been reading and it seemed it was as simple as moving chain0 into c:\ and adding c:\chain0="Mac OS X" into boot.ini... I did this, but it doesn't work it goes back to the OS selection screen

I read the whole thing about logical partitions, etc, but i don't have a logical partition its primary i made sur eof it

I gave up on this and tried booting with a boot selector, i used acronis, i hid my XP partition and made the OSX partition active, then booted and it goes to the gray apple screen and thats it, the status indicator doesn't come up

All the issues regarding this that i read on here seemed to have to do with the partition not being primary or the partition not being active, however neither of them apply to me here, can anyone offer some help?

If i boot in verbose mode the last thing that comes up is:

IOPCI2PCIBridge: bad bridge bus numbering, no room to fix, bailing out!

and then it just seems to hang

thanks!

This issue with chain0 of "goes back to the OS selection screen" happend to me with my laptop. what I did is when I highlight the mac os, I press F8 exactly after hitting enter -be quick-, Darwian boot menu should show with all partitions, I choose the Mac parition, hit enter and it should boot to MAC.

I hope your case is exactly at mine. give it a shot ;)

thanks, that fixed my chain0 error.. but still no OS X :blink:

i have the intel 815gm chipset, which i read worked so i'm not sure why its doing this.. heres the exact error i got when i boot in verbose (doesn't matter if i use -f or not)

Waiting on <dict ID="0"><key>IOProviderClass</key><string ID="1">IOResources</string><key>IOResourceMatch</key><string ID="2">disk0s2</string></dict>

IOPCI2PCIBridge: bad bridge bus numbering, no room to fix, bailing out!

IOPCCardBridge::checkBridgeBusIDs invalid sub/cardbus/pci settings of 0x5

AppleIntelPIIXPATA: ICH6-M SATA (CMD 0x170, CTR 0x274, IRQ 15, BM 0x1108)

And thats where it stops working..

I'm guessing this has something ot do with my SATA hard drive.. is there anything special I have to do for that?
