I manage to install Snow Leopard here, everything working but...

My hard disk keeps spinning loud all the time, it doesn't stop at all even when i"m doing nothing or running any program. It just stops when the system sleeps or when I turf off the computer(of course!).

Time Machine is disabled by the way.

Funny thing is I have two other Windows drives formatted in NTFS and they stay in standby mode when not in use, and doesn't make loud noise when reading, normal behaviour.

Is there a way, script or some kind of configuration to make it spin down? It's really loud, not normal at all!!

My config is in the signature.

Thanks

Here's what I've tried so far to solve this issue:

- I disconnected the Windows HDDs to see(or hear) if it stops, but the problem really is with the Mac OS one;

- Disabled Time Machine. In fact I didn't even configure it;

- Disabled Spotlight index;

- Tried an old App called APM Tuner X, but I can't get it to work. Maybe it's not compatible with Snow Leopard;

- Tried another App, hdapm, a kind of HDD speed controller. Failed too;

- I checked the fans but the noise really comes from the HD;

- I looked in Activity Monitor for a process that's triggers the HD crazy nonstop spin but couldn't understand much anything...

A couple more strange things:

When the system starts the HD is ok, no noise. In 30 seconds, 1 minute max it starts to spin like crazy, but the HD led is off and it stays that way until I really access a program or file!!!

Sometimes when I'm moving the mouse the noise stops!!! When I stop the noise comes back!!!!

HELP, HELP PLEASE!!!

Updates:

- Tried to disconnect the DVD Sata Drive and the windows hard drives together, just left the Snow drive on. No Luck... The noise really comes from the Snow Hard Drive.

- Try to randomly kill some process in Monitor but the hard drive still spins;

- When I hit sleep the hole system shuts down, even the fans and the power led blinks. I move the mouse the system comes back, so is the crazy nonstop spin;

Seems like I'm lonely here... PLEASE, nobody has a clue???
