Nir Arad
Installed iAtkos V7 without a glitch. All the hardware was recognized without problems. The system works pretty fast, and all 4 cores are active. Problem is that when I launch my audio host (cubase, logic) it acts as I have one core instead of 4. I've attached this screenshot of a session in cubase. The same session load on xp with 3 times less cpu. Same issue in Logic. My system info is at the signature. Thank you, Nir. nobbynator
Hi Mate I've had no probs with my dual core on iATKOS 7 and logic, not a cubase user though What kernel are you using? I found voodoo 9.7 to work well Cheers Nobby Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/194686-low-performance-on-cubase-logic/#findComment-1314992 Share on other sites
Nir Arad
Hi. I'm currently using voodoo 9.5, although I found out that previous kernels also had the same issues. Are there any special performance fixes for Intel Quads in Voodoo 9.7? I've had no probs with my dual core on iATKOS 7 and logic, not a cubase user though What kernel are you using? Are there any special performance fixes for Intel Quads in Voodoo 9.7? Sorry for delay, was with the missus all weekend, she doens't mind me getting geeky but I find it's better for my sex life to leave it alone ;-) Not sure on that one, just tried to have a look for info about that and haven't come up with much but I'm on a measly dual core anyway ;-) This dude seems to think it's given him 4 cores using 9.5 so, maybe not. http://www.hackint0sh.org/f181/59596.htm How you getting on with Logic? pro 9 or 8? do you use both cubase and logic equally or do you have a fave? Nobby Thanks for the link, but unfortunately it didn't give me any new information. The problem is that even though I can see 4 cores in my system info and activity monitor, and most application do seem to use all cores. The problem is with the sound programs (cubase, logic). For some reason the process loads only on one core, not divided between all 4. I've searched the net for similar cases but haven't found anything. About choosing between Logic and cubase. Logic is awesome, especially Version 9 which have great features. Cubase is much more familiar to me, so I get things done much faster. I use both at work, at home I mostly write music. For that Logic is great, because it has a lot of loops and such.
