SteveWasTaken Posted October 28, 2009 Share Posted October 28, 2009 Hey, I came into ownership of an old laptop. a Dell Latitude C840, with an amazing: 256mb of ram 20gb hard drive 1.8ghz pentium 4 mobile Geforce 440 GO 32mb video card It's the one with 2 battery bays, so you can stick in a second dvd/rw or floppy, or have 2 batteries giving you about 5hrs of battery life, pretty good for the age (6yrs). So, I was wondering if i could get a hand. I managed to install tiger on this little pup, and got resolution working using an old macvidia install i had lying around. Everything but QE/CI works, which is alright I guess. But I'm not happy with tiger, It's such a massive step backwards, so I want leo at least (If its possible). If i were to upgrade the ram, and stick in the 440 GO 64mb (the only upgrade available), is there any chance this will run without hanging at boot from the iAtkos dvd and actually be a useful little laptop?
