After delete the partition 0 or the 200mb partition, can the MAC OS start in normal?

On my machine, when I start or restart the computer, it loads into OS X by default.

To load into Vista (where I'm posting this from), I have to hold the Alt/Option key.

That's how I had it setup when XP was installed and I wanted it to stay that way.

I'm suprised this went as easily as it did. Usually when I try stuff like this, I hose the computer and endup losing everything (which makes me go :D).

As for Vista, I like it. Its still Windows, but the only compliant I have is with the stupid User Account Control (it gets annoying real fast, so I turned it off).

i really appreciate the work of the osx86 project and all the discussions going on on these forums.

i presently have an intel imac 1.8ghz upgraded with a 250gb hd running xp pro sp2 and os x 10.4.6 on two partitions using the normal boot camp method.

i have a beta version (5384) of windows vista and want to try that, just like others in this thread did... i understand i need to delete the hidden EFI partition and then reformat the present xp partition to install vista while leaving the osx partition as it is. right?

what i am really wondering about is what possible damaga this does? i mean, the EFI partition exists for a reason/has a function right? anybody has experiences/thoughts about this?
