Okay, after tons of trial and error I have found a fix. I did a complete reinstall of Snow Leopard off of my 8 Gig Flash Drive. There are plenty of how too's but this is basically it. I made my Flashdrive bootable by doing this:

okay, now forget anything after it says to install my hack onto the USB drive. Once you have installed "my hack" onto the flash drive reboot. Now there are settings in the Bios you need to make.

Use his settings for your bios then save and reboot. It should find you flash drive but make sure it is there in your bios settings. (disregard all the other stuff just use his bios settings)

Once you get through all the install on your harddrive reboot. When you get the boot selection screen choose your hardrive. Once booted with your hard drive install "my hack" choosing your new Hardrive as the target. Then reboot. Once you are back to your desktop dload the files on the next links and install them properly. They are not mine but this is stuff I have located on this site and others and it works. There are 3 kext files and a DSDT file. The files I used are here if you want to know.

When you follow this link you will be able to dload DSDT.ami

When you click on BlackH's Kext pack it will take you to another page. Look for ALC883_LegacyHDA_SnowLeopard.zip ( 14.66K ) Number of downloads: 450

dload. These are the files you need to get sound working on this logic board. The "my Hack" bootloader can be found here:

dload Esl2 Toolkit but just use the "my hack" for your thumb drive and harddrive once it is booted.

I hope this isn't really confusing! (the bootloader is Chameleon RC3 or the latest one I believe.

Anyways follow the instructions and reboot. Do not install anything else or remove any kexts while your doing this. This should be done on a brand new install of snow leopard. I hope this works for everyone with this board. I can't get the input to work yet though! Best of luck. Mark (Mac Pro baby!)
