Dell M1330 Black Screen during install

Hi All,

 

I am starting to be a bit frustrated as I cannot even see a first screen when instaling OS X.

 

The bootup seems to be going fine and if I put -v verbose mode I see all seems ok. But when it loads the graphical environment I see a blue screen and then a black screen.

 

It looks as if all is working fine except I cannot see anything on the screen. For example if I click the mouse on top left for menu or other things like this I can see that the CD is being read...

 

I have tried few options :

 

-x -s

 

-v -cpus=1

 

But all these end up with black screen.

 

Any idea how I can pass this step?

i got the same hardware/model of Dell, and it seems to come from the graphic card :

Intel GMA X3100

i'm currently looking after an easy step, but not now, so, same black screen for me...

Your hardware is compatible, do a quick search on google.com by typing "Dell M1330 hackintosh" or "Dell M1330 OSX" and you will see plenty of users out there that got it working

With that said, what bootdisk are you using? For example: iPC, iATKOS, Leo4All, Kalyway? and what version of OSX - from what i've read online regarding your system, Leopard seems to run fine.

I recommend downloading "iAKTOS V.7 10.5.7" or try out "iPC OSX Universal 10.5.6"

 

If problem persists, try to connect your laptop to an external monitor and see if that helps. Be sure to press the "fn key on the keyboard and the correct "F" Key to switch to monitor output. Some laptops require you to do this, for example mine works like this:

 

- Connect Monitor to VGA port or DVI..

- Bootup laptop and wait for output on LCD screen.

- Then i press "fn + F4" (F4 has a small picture of a screen) and the function key is normally on the left side towards the bottom, next to the "CTRL" key.

 

 

Heres something i found regarding the blue screen - Using iPC OSX Universal 10.5.6

Scroll down a bit and heres something you might need to add to the iPC ISO before you burn it.
