Problems across three distros (Noobish please help)

First of all I would just like to say that you guys have some great things going on in these forums, inspiring!

 

 

My specs are as follows;

 

AMD 64 X2 +6400

4.00gb Memory (not to sure on the specs of this)

Abit AX78 Mobo

Palit Nvidia 7900gs 512mb

Four Sata Hdd's including a external one

 

I saw a topic on some website talking about installing macosx on pc osx86, this would be suited towards me as i'm a mac user while at uni doing Graphic Design but I have not got the funds to buy one as of yet.

 

This sounded perfect to try before you buy so to speak.

 

Now to the problems and the distros.

 

Kalyway_10.5.2_DVD_Intel_Amd

iPC_Osx86_leopard_10_5_6_intel_amd_ss2_ss3

Leo4All-10.5.2 Universal AMD/INTEL[sSE2/SSE3]

 

First of all I tried Kalyway being it was the first i had heard of, I kept getting the "still waiting for root device" problem but messing in my bios I turned the ACHI? on instead of ide or sata and i could get to the install gui but this was really unreponsive but still i tried and after much avail formated my hdd partion to "mac os extended journalled" which i belive was correct?

 

Then customised my install, and started the install this took ages, but then finally i got a approx time which was 32 hours +, i waited for around three to see what happened, in the end my install was going at a rate of about five seconds real time to one minute on the approx time.

 

Then i read somewhere that "idlehalt=0" would help me and my cpu, tried again but nothing, i put the command in the F8 option command line if that is correct?

 

Still no avail.

 

Next burnt a copy of ipc this would not work to save the live of me "still waiting for root device" all the time no matter the bios settings.

 

Then tried the Leo4All and this was "still waiting for root device" but after messing the bios to native ide it came up with a "no entry" sign on the mac osx grey screen,

only to find that in "-v" it was the same "still waiting for root device" error?

 

I'm begining to think i'm missing something altogether now, although i love the forums motto's of learn before asking, I feel i have read too many threads now on the same matter and getting nowhere and wondering if its my rig or something really noobish that i have scanned over and missed!

 

Also i have tried the commands in the F8 menu of -v -cpus=1 -idlehalt=0 -platform=x86pc if any of this helps, not sure if i'm using them correctly to be honest should i space them or use a comma?
