After corrupting my 10.5.5 install by trying to install the 10.5.8 combo update, I decided to try to install iDeneb 1.6 Lite 10.5.8. At first, I tried the vanilla kernel as this was the one I used in 10.5.5 but OS X never booted. Nothing would appear on that screen if I booted it in verbose mode. Then I tried Qoopz 9.8 kernel and after ~ 1 hour, while downloading something with Firefox, I got a kernel error. Text appeared over my work like the one in this post: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=185415

This is not the error I get. I dont have a camera for now. I rebooted and the same thing happened after ~10 min while DL'ing another file in Firefox. I decided to try to do something else than DL to check out if I'd get the error and I got the error after about 5 min while using Transmission. I tried the other 2 kernels but they did the same thing( Voodoo 9.8 and 9.5). My specs are in my sig. I will post my kernel error as soon as I can. Please reply if you have this problem and similar specs.

Try using Kalyway 10.5.2 distro with Vanilla kernel its quite compatible compared to other distros.
