mmhardky
I'm sorry, I really tried to go through the guides, but I'm just too new into all this OSx86 stuff, there are just too many alternatives for different situations for everything. I'm already proud on myself that I managed to install iDeneb 10.5.7 on a HP DV5t-1140 laptop with almost everything working. I also divided the HDD to 2 partitions. I have my original Vista installation disc ready... There ends my knowledge about it... I'm just too confused with the different procedures and different bootloaders. Can someone please at least point me into the right direction? I would be very thankful! mmhardky
Ok, there is a problem. The Vita disc is a stupid recovery disc that wipes out the entire HDD, so I have to install Vista first and then iDeneb... mmhardky
So I installed vista first, divided the HDD into 2 partitions, installed iDeneb (with Chameleon 2 selected as bootloader) on the second partition, and the system doesn't even boot now! What am I doing wrong? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/193939-pls-help-me-with-ideneb-1057vista-x86/#findComment-1309770 Share on other sites
tanbk168
Not sure whether Vista can dual boot but Windows XP Professional can. I installed Windows XP first but before that you need to use iDeneb disk and use disk utility to partition the HDD into say 2 partitions and they must be MBR partitions. Erased the first partition using Mac OS extended (journaled) and the other FAT. After that you must format using the Windows XP disk the 2nd partition (FAT) into NTFS. After that installed Windows XP into 2nd partition. After that you have confirmed that XP is working, then install using iDeneb to the first partition. It worked for me using Fujitsu S6240. Now I have 10.5.8. plus Windows XP. I then installed Chameleon 2 RC3 into my first partition. However, if it does not boot, please check the settings in your bios, you need to uncheck/or check certain internal settings for both OS to work... have fun...
