tomhanks2k6
I have a Dell inspiron 640m with following specs: Intel Core2Duo processor Intel 945 graphics card. Sigmatel 9200 sound chipset. Broadcom 43xx network adapter. Intel 3495abg wireless adapter. I have downloaded the Snow leopard retail DVD. and will be installing it tomorrow. I know the installation procedure. I just want to know if the I will need any extra steps to configure any of the above hardware. I know wireless won't be working. I heard some issues with the graphics card. Can anyone help me with steps to configure the snow leopard. Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/193437-help-installing-snow-leopard-in-dell-inspiron-640m/ Share on other sites

ergosteur
Did any of you guys get wireless to work on the 640m If you have Intel wireless (Centrino sticker) it won't work. You'll need to swap it for a Broadcom card like the Dell Truemobile 1390, 1490 or 1505 (available cheap on eBay.)
