SteveNZ
I've got a Hackintosh running on a Gigabyte EP45T-UD3LR Motherboard with a GTS-250 videocard, 4GB Corsair DDR3-1600 RAM and an Intel Q9550 Core2Quad CPU. Everything works fine (Custom DSDT plus the fakesmc, LegacyHDA and PlatformUUID kexts). Except, Parallels 4 (current version from their site, and yes, I've got a legitimate license) won't install, and it's not the only thing. The installer runs and then hangs at the stage when the first dialog box would usually appear once it's finished "Checking for updates". The sum total of the logs shown by Installer are: Oct 20 18:26:54 Davros Installer[1025]: @(#)PROGRAM:Install PROJECT:Install-572 Oct 20 18:26:54 Davros Installer[1025]: @(#)PROGRAM:Installer PROJECT:Installer-430.1 Oct 20 18:26:54 Davros Installer[1025]: Hardware: MacPro3,1 @ 2.84 GHz (x 4), 4096 MB RAM Oct 20 18:26:54 Davros Installer[1025]: Running OS Build: Mac OS X 10.6.1 (10B504) Oct 20 18:26:54 Davros Installer[1025]: Env: PATH=/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin Oct 20 18:26:54 Davros Installer[1025]: Env: TMPDIR=/var/folders/CX/CXI4gmEhEvODFTjbhH13yk+++TI/-Tmp-/ Oct 20 18:26:54 Davros Installer[1025]: Env: SHELL=/bin/bash Oct 20 18:26:54 Davros Installer[1025]: Env: HOME=/Users/steve Oct 20 18:26:54 Davros Installer[1025]: Env: USER=steve Oct 20 18:26:54 Davros Installer[1025]: Env: LOGNAME=steve Oct 20 18:26:54 Davros Installer[1025]: Env: SSH_AUTH_SOCK=/tmp/launch-3pmUxb/Listeners Oct 20 18:26:54 Davros Installer[1025]: Env: Apple_PubSub_Socket_Render=/tmp/launch-T0FYTG/Render Oct 20 18:26:54 Davros Installer[1025]: Env: __CF_USER_TEXT_ENCODING=0x1F5:0:0 I've tried a completely fresh OSx86 install and I get the same issue so it doesn't seem to be anything specific to this profile, leading me to think it's something wrong with a hardware config, the DSDT or the Kexts. I get the same issue installing "TuxeraNTFS" but NTFS-3G installs just fine. The installer for VMWare Fusion 2.0.4 exhibits the exact same issue as Parallels. I also get the issue installing the latest Flip4Mac, but I can run the separate installers from within the .pkg and it installs ok. Has anyone got any ideas what I could look at? SteveNZ
Right, worked it out. Turns out I'd run "XSlimmer" and stripped the 32bit binaries out of Installer. Put the original version back and now all is well. oops.
