Hello,

I've been running Leopard on my PC since 3/2008 without problems. I stopped upgrading at 10.5.5 because everything was fine. I use vanilla DVD install with chameleon and drivers in /Extra and Natit for ATI support.

My setup is: gigabyte EP35-DS3r v2.1, saphire ATI HD2600XT, C2D cpu, sata drive and DVD.

Few days ago I received nvidia GTS250 1GB as a gift and I would like to upgrade. This would also be a good time to upgrade to Snow leopard or at least to latest 10.5 version.

Problem is I dont know in what steps to do it? And the fact that in past year I forgot how I did it last time does not help either. :)

Should I first make GTS250 run under 10.5.5 ? How to do it safely so i have fall back to ATI if it does not work? How can I switch configuration back from EFI strings to Natit?

Or should I upgrade to 10.6? I read on forums that ATI 2600 is not supported well in 10.6. Should I bother?

Or should I format everthing start from new?

I also have MacBook pro (with 10.6) if that could help..

thanks.

Format and go brand new... ATI 2600 is a pain in the "§$% with major LAGS in 10.6.x, I went through it, you'll feel like your computer is 20 years old!... NVIDIA is always the safer way to go... even if you stay in Windows XP... your hackintosh will FLY in SNOW with that new video card.
