GFX string problems (260, 9800) (EP-DS4)

I have a EP-DS4 board and built two new builds 10.6 and 10.6 server using lifehacker method initially then I found fully compiled DS4 v9 bios files here. http://www.efixusers.com/showthread.php?t=38

 

Now everything works pretty well and performance is great.

 

Only thing I can't do is the card recognition. I have seen two tutorials that basically get you to run a GFX util to output a file then copy the Hex string into the com.apple file.

 

I tried both methods (One replaces the apple file in the sysconfig and changes permission) the other changes the file in the extras folder.

 

Now I can't get my head around compiling new DSDT's from scratch so have to use ones compiled elsewhere.I have a 260GTX currently but am going to buy a PNY 9800GT 1GB card for my build.

 

Either way anyone got a EASY method of trying this again. I can do the output and change files from the system or extras folder with no problems and don't mind using terminal if given instructions but the two methods used seem to work for others and I don't know what I am doing wrong.

 

BTW - Stellarola has a new installer V2 for the lifehacker method out and I used that as a test and the GTX 260 showed up properly there. Of course once I put a DSDT with no GFX info in (except 8800 GTS) then I lost the info.

Yes Darth - Thanks - Saw the post you were on about (That link no page found) in an earlier thread.

 

Tried that method twice and nothing happens. Also found another method similar. Run Util, Get Output, copy Hex string put in plist etc.

 

Just doesn't work and wondering if anyone has a different way.

What should I change and where should plist file be placed - Do I have it correct ??
