darthvato
Hey folks, I'm having a little problem installing OS X 10.5.6 on my Compaq model SR5510F. I think the main problem is that I have no idea which configurations to use in "Customize" besides the Voodoo Kernel. The first time I installed it, all I selected was the kernel, just to see what would happen, and the installation completed successfully (or so it said) and I restarted to the Darwin bootscreen. According to the guide I followed (http://tgrounds.blogspot.com/2009/04/leopard-os-x-1056-on-your-pc.html) It says after restart to use boot flags "-v -f" which I did, and I got the Matrix-like text it said I would. After the text is gone, it just enters the initial setup, which leads to the install again. I have no idea what to do. The main thing is I don't know which configurations to choose for my machine. I have never had to do anything like this so I figured I would come get the experts' advice. I used the Wiki but I still have no idea what to do. *Cliffs* - Followed guide: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php..._post&f=136 - Installed successfully - typed boot flags - After Matrix text, taken to initial install screen again, repeats infinitely - Only chose Voodoo kext in the config menu, probably problem - Don't know how to customize Thanks again in advance for any help you can spare. -dv Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/192873-compaq-sr5510f-install-ipc/ Share on other sites
darthvato
Edit: I guess what I'm trying to say is that I can get a complete install, but after it restarts from the successful install, it restarts to the same install again instead of showing the welcome video. Edit 2: I noticed "root file system is read only" after reading through verbose. Not sure really what to do here now. After the diagnostics it just restarts to the language selection. darthvato
HAHA! IT WORKED! All I had to do was take the boot disc out and type -v -f! There's no sounds but it works! Haha! Now that I have it up and running, there's a few little problems. My resolution is 1024x768 with no other options, my wireless doesn't work, and my sounds doesn't work. I know I need to install some kexts but I'm not sure which ones. My sound is RealTek HD built into my monitor, my wireless USB adapter is a Belkin F5D8055 Wireless N+ (I don't care about N capabilities right now), and my screens native resolution is 1440x900. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/192873-compaq-sr5510f-install-ipc/#findComment-1303856 Share on other sites
