1825978192798152
Hey there, Trying to install Snow Leopard from a retail disc on my P5Q-E. I've setup my Chameleon USB stick, restored my Snow Leopard retail disc to a partition on my hard drive. When I boot up the system (with BIOS settings from here) from the USB stick I get one option: Mac OS X Install DVD. Selecting this I get the grey background with an Apple logo (appears to be a low resolution though) and the grey wheel appears...and that's where it stays. See below: A bit stuck now! It's taken me days to get the thing past a kernel panic, which I resolved by updating the BIOS to a recent version and patching the DSDT. Problem with Chameleon? Problem with my partition? BIOS? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! 182. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/192789-p5q-e-installer-wheel-problem/ Share on other sites
1825978192798152
I tried putting the EVOEnabler.kext in there for my HD4870 (it's actually a Mac version - so not sure if the kext is required) and my screen goes from the grey spinning progress logo, flicks black (resolution change I guess), goes to: Note: with cursor And then 20-30 seconds later I get: The spinning beach ball! Has anyone experienced anything similar? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/192789-p5q-e-installer-wheel-problem/#findComment-1303773 Share on other sites
regisw
Hello, I have a similar config and issue: Config: P5Q-E with Juzzi's 2001 bios ATI HD4870 2 GB memory IDE DVD reader I ended up to create a Boot USB stick (Chameleon 2.0 RC3) with Snow leopard install on it. I do not get to the partitioning menu, I get blocked before. In verbose mode, it just blocks after the Firewire initialization.. + Could you run the install with the flag -v (to get more info ?) + Which kexts did you used (in /Extra/ or /Extra/Extensions ) As we have the same config, might be nice to work in parallel Cheers, Régis.
