Which Distribution did you use to install on "real" AMD PC ?

I have following hardware:

* GIGABYTE GA-MA790FXT UD5P (AMD 790FX/SB750, LAN (RTL8111DL), 7.1 Audio (ALC889A), 6x SATA II RAID 0/1/0+1/5 (SB750), 4x SATA II RAID 0/1 (JMB322)

* Phenom II X4 Quad Core

* ATI 4850 Graphic card

I've tried quite a few...more than 10 different ones (I've almost got all of them :( ) and I guess the SB600.kext is no where present so no boot up or still waiting for boot device during booting the DVD.

My new box is almost identical to yours:

Gigabyte MA790X-UDP4p

AMD Phenom Quad Core_Black_Edition

ATI HD4650

1TB Sata 3.0 drive

HP DVD-R sata

I'm getting stuck at the same apple log screen. I went ahead and downloaded ideneb 10.5.7 and on one of the many reboots I got as far as to the screen where you select the installation language, but luck would have that my keyboard & mouse were non-responsive. I went ahead and rebooted and stuck at the same apple logo screen. I think for now I will stick to my dual boot XP/Gentoo and will probably revisit the hackintosh a few months down the road when snow leopard has been patched to run on a phenom cpu....good luck to you.
