slicker
Hello - new user here. I have worked in the Unix/Linux world for a few years and now I want to develop some iPhone apps with the SDK, Xcode and so on. I have to be mobile - so my options, go for a Macbook at £800+ or a £350-£500 laptop and try to get Snow Leopard working on it. I have looked but can't seem to find an HCL for laptop components, I was looking at something like a Dell Inspiron 15, current model on the Dell UK site at £479 - here is some spec: Intel® Pentium® Dual-Core Processor T4300 (2.1GHz, 800MHz, 1MB cache) 4096MB 800MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM [2x2048] 500GB (5400RPM) Serial ATA Hard Drive 256MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD4330 DVD +/- RW Drive (read/write CD & DVD) Dell Wireless 1397 Mini Card (802.11 b/g) Don't know what LAN card they use, or the HD. Does anyone have buying advice for me and can recommend a low-mid priced laptop which has been known to work? Open to all suggestions. Leader86
It seems that no ATI Mobility Radeon works with Leo or SnowLeo right now, you should choose an nvidia card instead Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/192663-looking-to-buy-a-laptop-advice-please/#findComment-1302115 Share on other sites
