Obtain a Leopard DVD (distro does not matter) 2. Boot from Leopard DVD (if a retail disc, check Boot-132. If a distro, continue) 3. Partition your main drive as followed: 3 Partitions @ 70gb+, 10gb, 8gb 4. Install Leopard onto the 10GB partition 5. Restart into Leopard 6. Set up leopard to at least work with wireless (unless you have a Snow Leopard image already) 7. Get Snow Leopard image (buy it, obtain it, whatever just get a copy ) 8. Restore Snow Leopard image onto the 8gb partition 9. Install Chameleon onto Leopard partition 10. Get fakesmc, put it in /Extra/Extensions 11. Edit com.apple.Boot.plist to have the following: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple Computer//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>-v -boot-uuid=D62FC088-19A1-3062-A66F-99AF2C567784</string> <key>Timeout</key> <string>5</string> <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>1280x800x32</string> <key>device-properties</key> <string>6d0000000100000001000000610000000200000002010c00d041030a00000000010106000002 7fff0400100000006d006f00640065006c0000000b000000474d41203935302000000041004100500 04c002c00480061007300500061006e0065006c0000000800000001000000</string> <key>PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x2,0x0)</key> <dict> <key>AAPL,HasPanel</key> <string>0x00000001</string> <key>model</key> <string>GMA 950</string> </dict> </plist> 12. Make DSDT.aml by first getting DSDT Patcher and running it. Then do the CMOS fix to dsdt-fixed.dsl and then obtain iASL or whatever it is that compiles DSDT right and drag the dsdt-fixed.dsl onto it. You now have a good dsdt.aml 13. Put dsdt.aml onto /Extra 14. Make smbios.plist and edit it with this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple Computer//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>SMbiosversion</key> <string>MP31.88Z.00C1.B00.0802091544</string> <key>SMmanufacter</key> <string>Acer Inc.</string> <key>SMproductname</key> <string>TravelMate 2480-2779</string> <key>SMsystemversion</key> <string>1.0</string> <key>SMserial</key> <string>W87234JHYA4</string> <key>SMexternalclock</key> <string>333</string> <key>SMmaximalclock</key> <string>1600</string> <key>SMmemtype</key> <string>19</string> <key>SMmemspeed</key> <string>667</string> <key>SMmemmanufacter_1</key> <string>0xAD00000000000000</string> <key>SMmemserial_1</key> <string>0x00001020</string> <key>SMmempart_1</key> <string>0x48594D503131325336344350362D59352020</string> <key>SMmemmanufacter_2</key> <string>0xAD00000000000000</string> <key>SMmemserial_2</key> <string>0x00003021</string> <key>SMmempart_2</key> <string>0x48594D503131325336344350362D59352020</string> <key>SMmemmanufacter_3</key> <string>0xAD00000000000000</string> <key>SMmemserial_3</key> <string>0x00003021</string> <key>SMmempart_3</key> <string>0x48594D503131325336344350362D59352020</string> <key>SMmemmanufacter_4</key> <string>0xAD00000000000000</string> <key>SMmemserial_4</key> <string>0x00003021</string> <key>SMmempart_4</key> <string>0x48594D503131325336344350362D59352020</string> </dict> </plist> 15. Fix Extensions.mkext somehow (use Mkext utility from osx86 pcwiz) 16. Restart 17. Boot the Mac OS X Install DVD partition 18. Install Snow Leopard 19. Restart 20. Go into Snow Leopard 21. You now have Snow Leopard 22. Get VoodooHDA.kext and VoodooPS/2 from somewhere. Throw em in /System/Extensions 23. Get Kext Utility, run it, wait for it to fix your extensions 24. Restart 25. You now have audio and built-in keyboard/trackpad use This was fastly written so their may be something missing although I'm sure I didn't miss anything. You can use the generic way of installing snow leopard also JUST DO NOT FORGET TO USE THE EFI STRING FOR GRAPHICS.
