USB Performance in Leopard...

is there any trick & driver update to get a better USB throughput on Leopard?

I recently bought one of those 2.5" WD Passport drive, which even on an average Windows systems does at least 15mb/s. On my Macbook Pro 2.4ghz i can get a maximum of 10MB/s... I guess it's not the hardware of the macbook but a driver issue, is it? havent tried running a HD benchmark in bootcamp yet.
