Hello all,

I just bought a new MSI Wind the other day, and began (what was for me) a very long and tedious process of getting 10.5.4 installed on it.

I used the WindOSx86 version, and then tried to install the following driver:

"Realtek_RTL8187SE_MacOS10.5_Driver_073_UI_1.6.2"

So I install it, it restarts my Wind, and then I go into System Preferences > Network. The only thing listed is "Ethernet." If I try to click "add" it only gives me more options that aren't related (or don't seem related) to wireless.

Ignoring that, I go to Applications > Realtek WLAN Client Utility and open it. It flicks up on the dock quickly, and goes away. I then opened Activity Monitor, and saw that Realtek was technically running, so I force quit that. I then try to open the Client again, and it bounces for a LONG time, and then stops bouncing, but doesn't actually open (no glowing ball below it).

I've exhausted Google searches (literally have clicked on every link) and have come up with nothing. I saw another article where they mentioned another company's driver (but only seems to be for clone Winds) which is the Ralink card. So I even tried that one, and it at least opens, but doesn't find my card.

I'm starting to wonder if the MSI Wind is even shipped with the Realtek card or if they switched it on us. All the online articles and forum posts I'm finding are from 2008.

Any insight into this situation would be very helpful.
