Unable to get into Snow Leopard installation with an ASUS F3SV

Once I got interested in putting OS X on my laptop, I spend the next 3 days getting it to install. Half my monthly bandwith limit and 3 days later I got one of the many builds to install. iAtkos v7. Now I've recently been trying to install 10.6 and I haven't had much luck.

I did everything it said, yet I've come to a problem. I get into Chameleon, but as soon as I try to get into the MAC OS X install it freezes.

 

I have absolutely no extra kexts other than the ones in the kexts folder by default, and I've tried various combinations with no luck.

 

 

I couldn't really get a sharp picture of the entire screen but basically above that it mentioned com.apple.security.seatbelt errors as well.

 

Before I forget, my target machine is an ASUS F3SV (C2D T7500, 4GB ram, 8600gs)

 

I know that 10.5.7 works, then I would have thought 10.6 is going to work as well, I'm just not doing something right.

hi ,i tried a retail of snow leopard on the same laptop and was able to boot with the latest empire efi as long as the ide config in the bios is set to enhanced mode but after that worked like a charm just had to play with a bunch of kexts to get sound and lan but no wifi or web cam yet.

You are following a wrong tutorial. That tutorial is not for a laptop but for a desktop machine with the Quad Core CPU.

Please follow these steps first.

 

1) Install iAtkos 10.5.7 and have an OSX running.

2) Use this tutorial to create a usb drive for installation. http://prasys.co.cc/2009/08/installing-sno...pard-for-osx86/ (USB Method)

3) Generally speaking, the files you will need

 

(Extra Folder) Nullpowermanagement.kext, AHCIPortInjector.kext, OpenHaltRestart.kext, FakaSMC.kext, IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector.kext

(System/Library/Extensions) ApplePS2Drivers, VoodooBattery.kext, VoodoopowerMini.kext

Your DSDT.aml file from Leopard. Copy it to the Root partition of USB.

Use Chamaleon RC 4 installer package from Dr Hurt.

Use Pfix to repair permission of your USB. (Very important) http://osx86.sojugarden.com/downloads/#pfix

 

Now, you may ask me how you could understand if the USB has been successfully created. Well, here is the trick.

 

When you put these files into their places, try to boot with the USB that you recently created.

If you get an error or kernel panic, that means either you did something wrong or there are some extra stuff you need to do. Like another kext file that I didn't mention.

Repeat these steps until you see a perfectly booting USB drive. Once it is ready give it a shot.
