theadamsharpe
Hey all, I'm trying to build a SL Hack based around Adam Pash's lifehacker install, the modified one using the magic EP45 installer. I'm running pretty much the same machine as him, at least mobo and processor wise. I've got the EP45-UD3P Gigabyte and a 3.66ghz Intel Quad Core. I followed his instructions to the t, or at least I thought I did, and everything looks great...until: I power up, get the apple logo and spinner, then a black screen and "no display" on my screen. I'm getting pretty worried, as I have NO idea what could be going on. Things seem so great, but then so horribly horribly bad. I can provide any information, I'm just not sure what I may need to tell to get this thing fixed...kind of my first hack. Any and all help is VERY appreciated! You seem to have the very same problem as i have. Do you have a LCD display connected to the digital port (DVI)? I have a generic nVidia 9300 GS graphics card with two connectors, one analog and one digital. As long as i connect to the analog port, everything goes fine. When i plug into the digital port, i get a blank screen also (the display still synchronizes, it won't go into standby mode). To add more confusion to this, when i connect another display through analog (only!), boot up, and THEN connect a second monitor to the digital port, all of a sudden the screen switches over to the digitally connected second display an everything is fine (but only till the next reboot). Well the point is i don't want to connect my 24" LCD via analog, because the image looks worse than with the digital port. Ideas, anyone? i tried that EFI string stuff already (using OSX86Tools), but with no result. BTW i had similar problems with Leopard also (since 10.5.6), which i could solve only by installing some NVdarwin pkg (NVInject alone didn't help).
