sneezymarble
I have two Snow Leopard systems which work just fine for my purposes. I used blackosx's guide to get each of them up and running. With the DSDTs I made for each system stereo sound worked from the start, even over optical. The problem, however, is that even though sound does work through the optical SPDIF out of each of my motherboards, neither will output surround sound through SPDIF. One of the machines is just hooked up to ordinary computer speakers and so surround sound isn't an issue. The other machine is connected to my home theater and I'd like to get 5.1 passed through the optical connection to my receiver. As it stands, I can only get nice sounding stereo to go through. Does anyone have surround sound working through their optical port (SPDIF)? If so, how? Anyone else having problems in this regard?
