Apple Disk Utility.

Sincere apologies not to offend anyone....

But I spent more time fixing and bringing my current HackOSX system to an almost perfect level of performing better than an original Mac Pro...

and in no case have I found that you could format an existing volume.. as NTFS using Disk Utility.. in Snow Leopard 10.6.1

there is my guide where you can mount any volume in READ/WRITE mode but

no formatting in NTFS as of yet (Apple please.....! :( )

not even using Paragon ver 7.0.x (Paragon update please! :) )

In fact, it will mess up your system.

on the other hand.. the current ntfs-3g driver and MacFUSE [i have yet to try them..]

are yet being tried over and not much feed back on them....

so kindly verify where in the options did you see Microsoft NT File System

as an option to format an existing volume...

IF you have found something new then contribute it over here and help others too...

- Thanks & Regards,

Me neither. But that wasn't the question.

Ignoring the subject line, he's actually asking if it is possible to WIPE an NTFS formatted drive.
