Cláudio Pinto
i, recently i switch to mac, i was already using it on work and decided to buy myself one, got a iMac 20" and i just love it, now i'm trying to make my pc a osx, my specs are intel core 2 duo e7400 MB asus p5sd2-vm 4 Gb ddr2 667mhz HD WD 80 Gb ide HD hitachi 250Gb Sata Nvidia Gforce 6200 LE 256Mb using iatkos v2i installing wasn't a problem got it at first time however the system is not working properly, it doesn't show my processor on "About this MAC" and the memory speed shows 333Mhz witch i believe because of the lack of performance. beside from that, even though my processor has VT-x i can't install any of the virtualization softwares "parallels" just keeps saying i don't have vt-x (i know i do) and i just don't work without virtualization. Thank for your time. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/191981-asus-p5sd2-vm-e7400/ Share on other sites
vilpostus
The fact that the System Profiler doesn't show something right, doesn't mean the hardware itself is not functioning properly. Macs uses EFi instead of BIOS. So then you install OS X on a PC, it can not read any info about the hardware. To overcome this issue some manipulations were made with OS X. Unfortunately those modifications doesn't always work right. And the data from BIOS is misinterpreted to EFI form, thereafter the System Profiler shows no info or Shows a wrong values. You may try different ways to overcome this. Ether by selecting another AppleSMBIOS version or using DSTD and SBIOS.plist.
