Hello,

I've followed the installation guide of Snow Leopard described at Lifehacker site: http://lifehacker.com/5360150/install-snow...acking-required

My configuration is this:

Case: Antec Sonata III 500

Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P

CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650

Memory: Crucial CT2KIT25664AA800 x 2 : 8GB

Graphics card: XFX GF9800GT 512MB Green Edition

DVD drive: not yet installed

HDD: Samsung Spinpoint F1 1TB SATA 3.0

The installation went smothly and everything works like a charm. I've also installed the bootloader to the internal HDD so that i don't need thumb drive to boot.

I've installed the eSATA bracket on the back of my case and wanted to try my config with an additional HDD connected to one of the eSATA ports on the back.

I have connected an old Samsung Spinpoint HDD 160 Gb as the second HDD to one of the eSATA ports and rebooted.

After reboot it took a very long time to recognise my newly connected HDD and after that the systems hangs with a blinking cursor at the point when the bootloader is loading. I have correct booting order in my bios.

If I disconnect the second HDD the system boots up just fine.

Any ideas? Is it possible that the old SATA HDD is not compatible with AHCI?

Any help is appreciated
