So, after another fresh reload of the Kalyway 10.5.2 disc, I didn't select ANY network rivers at all, not for my Intel Pro/ 1000 (82573L) or my or My wireless (the WM3945abg) I figured since none of the drives on the disc were valid, why bother...

while searching Google for drivers, I bumped into a post (lost the link) where someone did the same and their card worked anyways. Well, so does mine. ...sort of.

I can only get the LAN to work if I boot with the cable already plugged in. Otherwise, it will not pull an IP address. However, the sidebar in network preferences still reports the card as disconnected despite an obviously working internet connection. So, despite having a semi-working NIC, I still don't have a proper driver. It works though. thats what is important her.

So, on to my real question here...

With lack of proper drivers, it is my understanding that the Network card is failing to properly initalize or mount (correct terminology??) on boot up if it doesn't detect an active link.

SO... Is there a terminal command to use to get the card to initialize after a boot up, possibly write a script or the equivalent of a .bat file from the windows world to manually start it?
