WiZMaC
Hi everyone, Out of the blue, the samba ( windows file sharing ) daemon started acting funny causing high cpu usage in kernel_task and the current temporary fixes include: 1. Fix originally posted by GiantRobot on ArsTechnica - Edit /etc/smb.conf to make sure your machine never becomes a master browser except when it is really the only machine on the network. To do that add: domain master = no local master = no preferred master = no os level = 0 Make sure to restart samba after that. 2. Goto System Preferences --> Sharing --> Windows Sharing : Stop/Start (Uncheck/Check) This has been plaguing both OSX Intel & Mac users.
