VincentvanG
Hello, I finally installed iPC 10.5.6 on my dell studio xps 435mt, after a lot of problems. Other distro's never worked for me. Now I'm trying to get my Intel 82567LF Gigabit Ethernet Controller working. Tried the 82566mm kext, but it didn´t work. When I installed Ideneb 10.5.7 with the 82566mm kext it did work... (but ideneb didn't work very well) Can someone help me with this kext? Thanks in advance! sinpassion
Did you get sound working on this machine? I have the same make/model as you. It'd be nice if you'd help me out on how to get at least 10.5.6 installed properly, I had the ethernet work also on iDeneb, but at the time I was using Wireless and was disappointed and deleted it like a dummy [kicks himself]. Now I'm stuck in between installs, maybe there's a step I'm missing because the guides aren't too specific on what exactly to do, but I did have internet access, but no sound on on 10.5.7 iDeneb at one point before, following everything in the guide. Right now I installed iDeneb on Vmware, it's running smooth but no sound :[ Think I'd have better luck installing it natively; "iPC", not iDeneb.... PS. iPC is awesome for Dell Inspiron 1525 laptops, even upgraded it @ some point to 10.5.7. DELL STUDIO XPS 435MT OSX86 Installation in Dual boot with Windows 7 Bios settings: • Hypertreading DISABLED • Intel Speedstep DISABLED • Intel Virtualization Tech DISABLED • Multiple CPU 1 1. Start with iPC and press f8. Type “busratio=20 cpus=1 –v” 2. Go to disk utility and partition the hard disk in 2 partitions: - Partition 1: Mac OS X extended, LEOPARD - Partition 2: Fat32, WINDOWS 3. Start with Windows 7 installation and format the “WINDOWS” partition 4. Install Windows on the second partition 5. Start with iPC and press f8. Type “busratio=20 cpus=1 –v” 6. Select LEOPARD for installation 7. Select following things: - Base System - Universal kernel - LegacyAppleIntel - RemoveAppleIntelCPUPower - SMBIOS 1333 Mhz - Patch DSDT - USB Fix 8. After installation of iPC start with iDeneb, press f8 and type “busratio=20 cpus=1 –v” 9. Select the following things: - Ati 4850 files - Intel 82556 - Seatbelt - VoodooHDA - Chameleon v2 10. Start Leopard with “cpus=1 –v” (will take long time to boot!) 11. If chameleon v2 isn’t working yet install it with the installer package 12. Copy DSDT.aml to “LEOPARD”, your installation partition 13. Restart and enable all bios settings 14. Go to /LEOPARD/System/Library/Extensions and delete the “IOATAFamily.kext” 15. Use kext helper v7 for installing the right “IOATAFamily.kext” (this will make the pc boot within 30 seconds) this was the only way to get it working for me, using only one distro didnt work for me to get everything working. 435mt.rar Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/191637-intel-82567lf-gigabit-ethernet-controller/#findComment-1359560 Share on other sites
