Enriterp
Hi all.. I'm pretty new to this. I had great success following a tutorial on here to get OS X on an acer laptop. Now I decided to do the same for my Dell Inspriron 1440. I'm dual booting with windows 7 and OS X using Iatkos v7. No problems there. My issue is with obtaining the proper video resolution. In windows I'm able to get 1600 x 900 but not in OS X. I believe that this involves installing certain kexts etc? I'm not sure. I've looked all over for a tutorial to do this with an Inspiron 1440 but haven't found one. The wireless and LAN are also not working but I'm tackling the video issue first. Any help would be greatly appreciate Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/191631-dell-inspiron-1440/ Share on other sites
cornboy7x
i was able to get the wireless working on an inspriron 1420 by using the broadcom driver included with ipc 10.5.7. the only thing was that i had to use osx86 tools to add the -f boot flag. you could do it manually everytime you boot, but that was easier. only way to keep it working. thats about all i can help you out with, but did you get your audio working? i was able to get the headphone output to work, but not the speakers. and i also get a blank screen when i boot up, something with the display sleep. had to set up a hot corner as a work around, but its pretty annoying. also you didnt by any chance figure out the open close thing did you? The installation works fine ( also I have to use the boot command "-v -x" otherwise it wont even boot to the Mac Install Menu; but the problem is, that I cannot boot OSX after it is installed. I installed Bootloader Camelion etc. But nothing worked. Could you please explain how you got this work fine on your 1440? That would be so great. As detailed as possible please. I did managed to run iATKOS v7 10.5.7 in my Dell Inspiron 1440. Following Deviato's tutorial in 1545 Inspiron. I am facing two issues now: 1) No sound, I tried to install the .Kext and still no sound. ( what I did was open Kext helper drag the kext file there and click easy install. Still No Sound) 2) Resolution still low. Please help me how to improve. I downloaded the Chameleon 2.0 RC4 with 915 resolution from Deviato also but dont know how to install or replace the bootloader. (just newbie) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/191631-dell-inspiron-1440/#findComment-1494841 Share on other sites
