Danny Michel
I have a PCCHIPS A13G+ board, AMD 4400+ cpu, 1 GB 667MHz RAM, IDE HDD, SATA DVD, ALC660 sound, RTL8187 wireless adapter, ATI X300SE video... I have installed from the iPC DVD, but my DVD drive isn't working within OSX. Everything else seems to work ok. My cursor will develop a little box around it anytime I scroll, then move the mouse. Other times as well. I was able to get the sound, wireless, and IDE(maybe a little slow) working. This board uses the MCP61S chipset. I have tried changing to and from RAID in my bios, I have no AHCI option. I have searched here and googled for at least a week before starting this thread. Please don't call me a noob and tell me google is my friend... I AM a noob when it comes to OSX... Any help is GREATLY appreciated. Also, About this Mac causes a log-off. I tried the fixes that I have found, to no avail... DAMMMITTTT!!!!!!!!! I had it working great! I had the DVD drive reading, didn't get to try writing. I had my mouse tearing issue fixed. The only thing that I couldn't resolve was QE/CL(CI?), which apparently doesn't work on ATI X300 Vid cards. I tried to update to 10.5.8 using the iDeneb combo update, Stuck @ grey apple screen. Looks like I'm re-installing, again!!! Thanks to everyone who has contributed in any way to this project. I am looking forward to the day when I can run Logic and possibly ProTools(probably not, didn't like the PC version) on my $200 PC.
