thrillhouse900
Hey Everyone Specs Gigabyte EP45-UD3P EVGA E-GEFORCE 9800GT OCZ Gold XTC PC2-6400 4GB Intel PRO/1000 GT Gigabit Snow Leopard 10.6 Installation went fine, but no network card was recognized, figured the Intel Ethernet was incompatible, so I picked up a Encore ENLGA-1320 which I found on a list of compatible network cards, threw it in, but it also wasn't recognized. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks guys. George Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/191211-networking-problems-in-snow-leopard/ Share on other sites
oetkaa
Which list of compatible network cards do you mean? Because there are a lot of list for leopard, but not to many for snow leopard. My guess is that you have a networkcard that is compatible with leopard and not snow leopard, or you didn't install the right kext for it. And because there aren't many (custom) kexts voor snow leopard yet, your best off getting a (wireless) networkcard that is used in a real mac. Check airport cards on ebay for example. thrillhouse900
I used the list on Stell's Blog http://stellarola.tumblr.com/post/17087638...atible-hardware Do I need to reinstall OSX with this card installed? :\ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/191211-networking-problems-in-snow-leopard/#findComment-1293877 Share on other sites
oetkaa
I used the list on Stell's Bloghttp://stellarola.tumblr.com/post/17087638...atible-hardware Do I need to reinstall OSX with this card installed? :\ It could work, but properly not. But it's SL, who knows what happens with the version of OSX? But How have you installed snow leopard? I personally don't know Stell's blog, so I can't say if the information on that site can be trusted. But it looks legit, so maybe the device that you have bought has an other device id than the one that stell used. So that can be the problem, why snow leopard it's detecting the card. There are ways to change the device id, but I can't help you with that.
