Anderson
Hello Board, I installed OS X10.4.6(HOTISO) on my box(ECS 945P, 1G ddr 533 RAM, 200GB SATA2 maxtor HDD). Here are the problems unresolved, very much appreciate any of you gurus could provide some help! 1. The onboard REALTEK 8139 LAN never works, AppleRTL8139Ethernet always cause kernel panic whenever I turn on onboard LAN in the CMOS setup. i have tried replacing the AppleRTL8139Ethernet.kext with 10.4.3 versions downloaded from this forum, but it's just the same. In windows XP, it's recognized as "Realtek RTL8139 family PCI FAST ethernet NIC #2", device ID is 813910ec 2. MacOS Cannot boot from HDD itself, the classical chain0 booting error. I have read quite a lot faq, and tried to chainload the chain0 via the GRUB also tried with XP Boot loader, but no luck. Here's my partition structure: DISK0 S1 WINXP FAT32 (primary, active) S2 EXTENDED PARTITION S3 0xaf HFS+(macosx reside here), primary The only way to boot the mac is through the installation DVD with the option : rd=disk0s3 3. The AC97 audio doesn't work, it always repoted some linking/loading problem when I tried to manually load the AC97 driver with kextload. Thank you so much! Any suggestions are appreciated! NeSuKuN
1) From your mobo specs page at ECS home: Realtek RTL8110S Gigabit Mbps Fast Ethernet Controller Search for this 2) Post your grub.conf, maybe chainloader +2? (as you have a partition betweenXP and mac) 3) No idea, you shouldn't have problem following the AC'97 guide at the wiki, one advice: TRY ALL JACKS, EVEN THE MIC ONE! xD Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/19109-1046-tiger-installed-and-partialy-works-but-with-some-problems-unresolved/#findComment-125157 Share on other sites

Anderson
Thanks you friends, but setting it active doesn't work. it reported "Error Loading OS". Then I use "dd" to write the boot1h(on mac installation CD) file into the mac partition, it became even worse, no any text upon boot, and with the hard disk led always flashing, but just can't boot into the OS.
