free30
Partition id=af or type=0afh. IS the partition id as such. And I noticed giving it a drive letter in windows helps. And setting active helps. Use acronis. Or if you can't find a way around after try twice on each boot of OS, use VMware to the same drive or to a virual drive and copy the image with dd. free30 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/19074-problems-with-format-disk/#findComment-124903 Share on other sites

free30
It's slightly quicker and you save the phisical medium. But no try a vurtual partition/hard disk inVmware. You need to create an id=af partition. First make space, Run, "diskpart", "select disk ?", "create partition primary size=???? id=af", "list partition", "select partition ?", "active". That will create a partition with the right id and set it active. Be careful now if you reset Windows will not boot. It will need to be set active. Make sure you have backups and a bootable CD like knoppix so you can use qtparted to set Windows active. Else once OS is installed you can use darwin boot options to choise which disk you boot into i.e Windows. good luck, read the forum, less haste more speed. free30 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/19074-problems-with-format-disk/#findComment-124930 Share on other sites
