pilsator
Is there any chance to install 10.6 with boards that don't support AHCI? Quote from http://prasys.co.cc/ "...Select the right patches. For instance if your BIOS doesn’t support AHCI , do make sure you select AppleIntelPIIATA kext ...." In the installer package offered at this webpage the AppleIntelPIIATA.kext is commented as "experimental...will cause kernel panics for some boards". It does with my board. Thanks in advance for your help - if there is a solution. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/190717-106-without-ahci-will-that-work/ Share on other sites

pilsator
try this. i have not tried it yet http://netkas.org/?p=125 or http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...p;#entry1284654 Thanks! I will try that. BTW the troublemaker is just the ASRock board. With the Akoya netbook that supports AHCI I get beyond kernel panics.
