Mr Ikasu
I'm running 10.4.6 from an install DVD on a Dell Dimension 2400. Installed the M-Audio drivers for my MobilePre USB and it all installs fine. Output is near enough perfect but in Garageband when trying to use the inputs the sound is incredibly crackly and distorted. Increasing the latency seems to make it slightly better but still unusable. I've been searching for a solution all day so if you could help me that would be appreciated. Mr Ikasu
Right I've been looking at it all a bit more and the crackling seems to reduce if I choose the low latency mode in the System Preferences. It is still unusable though. Anyone got any thing else I could try? Mr Ikasu
Yeh, at least I know its probably something more than a simple driver error with my interface. Nevermind, I'll just keep trying, keep you posted if I sort it. Mr Ikasu
Right it is alot more bearable using the built in Apple Drivers as opposed to the M-Audio ones. Just a light clicking sound. It always happens in Garageband but when I tried it in Logic Express 7.2 it didn't start happening until about 10 minutes into using it. Very strange Any ideas what sort of problem would cause this?
