Table16
After some time I finally got 10.5.6 up and running on my machine beautifully except for one thing, no sound. I used the ALC889A that was suggested in the wiki for my GA-EP45-UD3R integrated sound but no sound is coming from my speakers. I have no options to select 'Ouput' under Sound from System Prefs. I really don't feel like going through a reinstall again. Does anyone have any suggestions? On a side not, I want to add a second hard drive. It was a past windows hard drive so its been formatted using NTFS, will osx have a utility for me to wipe it clean and reformat it? Thanks. mrfatboy
I used the kexts from this thread and sound works find. Never got the mic to work tho. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...0&p=1005841 Also, make sure you use the -v -f for first boot up. You still might not have sound but boot again. Don't ask me why, but it works. You should be able to format your drive using the disk utility from ipc disk. There's got to be a way also in OSX but am not a mac guy. Yea I got the hard drive thing done. That was easy. I'll check that thread out to see if it helps at all. Thanks for the direction. mrfatboy
I have installed 5 systems with those kexts and never had a problem. 1) are you sure you are plugged into the right jack in the back? 2) are you using kext helper .06? 3) Do you speakers work? 4) Do you have your on board sounds turned on in the bios? <<<<<<<<<< I know it works. it has to be a minor issue.
