roninx
I'm attaching what drivers i have to make this pretty much a fully functional system. NC10 SL Setup Final-RoninX - Audio - AzaliaAudio.pkg - Boot Kext - fakesmc.kext - IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector.kext - NullCPUPowerManagement.kext - OpenHaltRestart.kext - UUID.kext - Ethernet - skge.kext - GFX - v10.6.0 (Working) - AppleIntelGMA950.kext - AppleIntelGMA950GA.plugin - AppleIntelGMA950GLDriver.bundle - AppleIntelGMA950VADriver.bundle - AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext - v10.6.1 (Working) - AppleIntelGMA950.kext - AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext -PS2 - VoodooPS2Controller-0.98-installer.pkg - SystemConfiguration - com.apple.Boot.plist - Utilities - HexEdit.app - KextHelper b7.app Note: 10.6.0 graphics do not have transparency for some reason however this should not matter, upgrading from 10.6.0 to 10.6.1 was painless and caused no problems. it's just that the 10.6.1 kexts must be installed. those are the drivers that work fully. I spent a lot of time on this. Mystique mac and a lot of insanelymac was of no help. comments or thanks are always welcome. ubersoldat2000
nice one roninx, i am also running a fully functional 10.6.1 on my NC10, except for brightness control via fn+F12/Ins. did you get that to work as well? if so, you may claim a crate of beer from me ( and i live in munich ;-) uber Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/189819-nc10-driver-thread-1066-please-contribute/#findComment-1287843 Share on other sites
roninx
Which method have u used for installing? Everything working on the NC10? well it was hard at first because i'd have to physically remove my 2.5" sata drive to test it and hot-swap, but basically there was this bootcd available. it was really useful but i don't have the link at the moment. what you can do is plug in the sata drive to a working platform and run the retail install disk (non-osx86 disk) note: the goldmaster whatever {censored} sucked. it barely worked for the most compatible hackintosh platform out there format your 2.5" drive with a single GUID partition show the hidden files in the install disk and run OSInstall.mpkg from /System/Installation/Packages/ select your 2.5" drive as the install location and be careful not to select your root drive let that run, if it says failed, ignore it, apple got lazy. run the chameleon rc2 base installer (included here) and replace the boot file with the one i'm including here in the root of the partition if you can try to use osx86 tools to install the basic boot kexts (in Boot Kexts folder in the previous attachment) to your specified 2.5" boot off of it with whichever bootflags are necessary, i found -f helped me through things in the setup the ps2 probably won't work so plug in some sort of usb mouse (keyboard works i believe) leave your netbook case open, so you can hot-swap the drive to a working hackintosh if needed. in the setup just enter your information and start installing the other kexts nice one roninx, i am also running a fully functional 10.6.1 on my NC10, except for brightness control via fn+F12/Ins. did you get that to work as well? if so, you may claim a crate of beer from me ( and i live in munich ;-) uber jawohl, bayerische bier schmeckt aber gut. gerade wohne ich in den USA. Scheißtag! back to english (because of computer jargon) haha. so when you boot the machine what i've tried doing is doing the fn+f12 keys at the samsung splash screen. over at mystiquemac forums, a russian enthusiast, tea has claimed to have gotten his working. leider kann ich nicht sagen, ob es funktioniert. roninx
I have a big question for you, the original wifi card works without problems? Thanks switch it out, atheros makes {censored} to begin with. i've wasted countless hours trying to find drivers that didn't work and a bunch of dumbasses used kismac wifi stumbler and it just doesn't work. try the Dell Wireless 1490 A/G (BCM94311MCAG) works out of the box. order from dell online or ebay or whatever. Tastenmeister
Hi RoninX, I used your Drivers for my NC10 to get my Snowleo running, but the azalia audio driver doesn't work for me. Any idea what I can try? All the best - Tastenmeister P.S.: I didn't use the VoodooPS2Controller, because I had in earlier times a KP, but Keyboard and Trackpad workgs fine. skim32
I have a big question for you, the original wifi card works without problems? Thanks If you have the intel wireless card, it won't work and there are no drivers as far as I know. I recommend trying the Dell 1490 Card. They are supposed to work out of box. I just picked one up for 7 bucks on ebay. If you look hard enough, you can probably get a good deal on a Dell 1500 card.. which supports Draft N out of box. The only thing to note about the 1490 is that it only supports 802.11a/g. No b. But who needs B anyways. The following is an ebay link where I bought mine. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=150372773892 And I'm not sure how savy you are but here are Youtube instructions on installation/ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/189819-nc10-driver-thread-1066-please-contribute/#findComment-1304931 Share on other sites
roninx
Hi RoninX, I used your Drivers for my NC10 to get my Snowleo running, but the azalia audio driver doesn't work for me. Any idea what I can try? All the best - Tastenmeister P.S.: I didn't use the VoodooPS2Controller, because I had in earlier times a KP, but Keyboard and Trackpad workgs fine. i have yet to find a driver that doesn't just output from speakers. my headphone jacks aren't functional. this collection was the best i could do, and my efforts were on getting video working, which is far more important than sound. Update: AppleHDA.kext in my newly attached 10.6.2 file works for me (whether it needs the DSDT file included in the package is beyond me.) i won't be around for a while. i'm trying not to fail school with 19 credits. --godspeed. NSCXP2005
Hi roninx, I'm having problems booting up the SL Installer using a Boot132 and SL DVD combined on a USB Stick. I keep getting a kernel panic on loading the SATA drivers. it seems to happen on the kext IOATAFamily.kext. Do you know how I can get past this problem and get to the installer? roninx
i don't have a record of the link where i got the boot CD that i use. but i used this boot CD to swap for the retail version to install OS X this boot CD i had to boot in Enhanced/AHCI mode to work with the least amount of problems. when the installation was finished it would revert back to Compatible. I used the BootCD to boot the main hard drive, (it lets you choose your hard drive as a boot option) and from that point i installed the necessary drivers with a spare usb keyboard/mouse set the best option is to upgrade first then install the 10.6.1 drivers. Cheers EFI strings never worked for me. you need customized-from-stock graphics drivers (AppleIntelGMA950... etc. IntelFrameBuffer.. etc) the plist file within that as well as the physical driver in "MacOS" must be modified using HexEdit by replacing stock bitswitched IDs with your own bitswitched hardware IDs that is how i get fully functioning drivers every time.
