jdys_1991
Hi Ok well basically some background info first. I'm not new to OSX86'ing, but I left it for a long time. Now I'm back! Basically I managed to install iPC's OSX 10.5.6 on my computer. (After like 15 tries, and trying to figure out what the problem was...) I installed it on my external Hard drive, and I made two partitions out of it. The total capacity is 500GB, and I made the OSX partition 150GB (formatted as HFS+ Journaled) and the other 350GB NTFS. I dual boot with Windows 7. Whenever I want OSX I plug the HDD in and off we go. But now I have a problem. The drive is a "Neso 500GB Hitachi" HDD and is causeing me trouble. It just randomly stops working. So I'm assuming it's nearing its deathbed. I contacted the shop I bough it from and they are saying that they will refund/replace the HDD. Now they dont have the same one in, so I got the choise to get a different one. I really liked the "Western Digital 1TB Mybook Essential Edition". I'll have to pay a bit on top, but that's fine for me. The thing I wanted to confirm is that will OSX86 still work on this hdd? Because I read somewhere that Western Digital hdd have some kind of a issue with OSX86. I cant remember what exactly the problem was or where I read it. But I definetly know that I DID read this somewhere on the internet. I just want to make sure that my OSX86 will still work, even after the replacement. I really like the look of this drive, that's why I'm so interested in buying this one. Please, if someone knows anything, let me know if it will work. Thank you in advance! nozz93
I have a Western Digital WD6400AAKS, it's internal and it works. I didn't install OS X on it but it should work.. I can read/write and it works like my OS X HD. You shouldn't have a problem with the external one.
