Hello,

Love all that is going here. Just got to mention that small revolutions like these are what keep me guessing and wondering of the possibilities.... gotta love it

Well, okay I loaded ox86 10.4.6 today for the second time today. The install worked perfectly. And after the first restart a screen appears that shows nothing but a 1 inch thick white, horizontal bar on the right of the black screen.

After that there is a barrage of windows that appear very very jumbled and un-readible. It is very hard to navigate beyond this point.

Can anyone give me maybe an idea where the problem possibly lays, or how i can go about fixing it.

thanks

govinda

govindablu,

Im having the very same problems..

The problem you described is proberably quite acurate.

My boot sequence goes like....

Select Mac OS X from grub menu (booting XP, Mac OS X and Linux)

Starts Darwin boot sequence

Completes OK and starts GUI (A Black screen but with moveable mouse cursor)

Then I a grey screen appears centrally the shifts to then right (i.e. 3/4 black, 1/4 grey)

If I press tab it seems like it moves to another button, displays like a garbled mess of what should be on the screen.

Hitting space and/or enter it seems to select the option that you select pressing tab.

From what I can make out it seems like a "First Boot Setup" screen and I have managaed to get a purple and black X logo up and some things about itunes importing but nothing to actually go on....

.. actually I do remember on one fo my first boots it have a sort of Getting started.. messeage on the black screen as if its an animation.

Im running on a Fujitsu s7110 Core solo intel

945GM Chipset and 945 Express graphics

SATA

Atheros Chipset Wireless

Im running a patched MacOSX 10.4.6 Install from DVD. The install ran smoothly

Does anyone have any pointers or experiance with this?

Thanks in Advance

Ok...

Ive now figured out how to boot into Safe Boot (Im a XP, Linux user.. never touched a mac before really) using the -x boot switch. This then boots into a fully usable X which then walks you though the setup. I guess in safe boot things like network dont work even though they are detected.

I now need to resolve the problem in normal boot. I think I need to do something similiar to this thread http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?sh...ic=18373&hl=945 but im not too sure on kexts but im guessing they might be in /system/Libary/Extensions (sorry did that from memory as im in windows now)

Any ideas anyone? This hsould help you too govindablu.
