mattlowe01
So I've been attempting to get any sort of hackintosh working on my PC to no avail. I have a gateway fx6800, with intel x58 motherboard, ati 4850, i7 920. Can someone PLEASE point me in the correct direction to go? All i've accomplished so far is booting into a kernel panic. Sorry for such a noobish post, my frustration is getting the best of me. I am a noob as well so I am not going to have the silver bullet for your problem. However, after much trial and error and this boot cd and that one I have found that bios settings are a very good place to start. Do you have AHCI in the bios? Is the optical drive IDE or Sata? What boot loader are you trying to get working? Are you trying to use iPC, iAtkos, or other? The frustration is maddening I know. I have managed to install iatkos v7 onto a Dell XPS 1530 but I really want it on my desktop and I am in the same boat you are in so I think our best bet is to either utilize these forums (even though its tough to follow with all the thread hijacking going on) or to give up. Best of luck to you.
