metsjets254 Posted September 28, 2009 Share Posted September 28, 2009 My setup (while it was working) was a 80GB SATA hd partitioned into 5 sections: Windows Xp Ubuntu Ubuntu swap Windows Vista Mac OS X 10.5.6 I used the Chameleon bootloader and all four operating systems booted perfectly. Then, I decided to install Windows 7 onto the same hard drive. So i removed Ubuntu, moved the XP partition right next to the Vista one, and installed 7 in the first partition. The installation went fine and Windows 7 is working properly. However, i cannot boot into any of the other operating systems. I've tried reinstalling OS X, hoping the chameleon bootloader would come back, with no avail. I have also tried repairing Vista from the live cd to use that bootloader, still didn't work. I've tried editing the BCD in 7 to boot other operating systems, but whenever I boot, the only option is Windows 7, or "older version of windows"(when i try to boot that, a black screen comes up and nothing boots). even when i set up other partitions as active, the same windows bootloader comes up. Go into Disk Management, right-click on your Windows 7 Partition and take of the active flag on the partition. That is going to be the first step. If your Chameleon is still intact you should get that bootloader again. If not you will need to do a repair option in Win 7 Installation to set the partition active again. Tenchi-kun Posted September 29, 2009 Share Posted September 29, 2009 What I did after installing OSX, then Windows 7 was use EasyBCD on the Windows 7 install. This free program allows you to modify the Windows Bootloader, and you can add an option for OS X. Worked like a champ for me!
