tshamner
Hey all, I've been running my hackintosh with my AMD Athlon 64 X2 3400+ on 10.5.8 rock stable for the past 2 weeks. I love Mac OS X and can't see myself returning to Windows any time soon! However, I cannot get digital audio output to work on my integrated sound (Realtek ALC850). SPD/IF output appears as an option in the sound output settings, but I cannot get any audio to my home theater setup when I try to use it. I've tried a lot of different drivers, settings, etc and have all but given up on getting it to work. So, are there any USB soundcards with optical output that are confirmed to work with OS X? I know that the M-Audio Fastrack Pro would work, from what I've read, but I'm not willing to drop that kind of cash for it. I've been looking at this: http://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-USB-SND8-8-C...9365&sr=8-1 I've seen a post or two on these forums that have claimed this to work in OS X, but nothing on whether the optical audio would work. What do you guys think? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/188987-usb-soundcard-with-working-spdif/ Share on other sites
tshamner
Looks like this could be a more inexpensive solution than the Fast Track Pro: http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/Transit.html Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/188987-usb-soundcard-with-working-spdif/#findComment-1281334 Share on other sites
