I am sorta new to the hackintosh world, and am trying it for the first time. My setup is basic. I have not changed my BIOS or installed and OSx86 bootloaders. My specs are at the bottom.

I downloaded iAtkos v7 from the torrent and burned it to a CD, then booted from it. After reading the disk, i get the following error message 10-30 times:

EBIOS read error: Error 0x01

Block 962 Sectors 64

I've gone through all of the screens I can go though, but if i can get to one that asks me to boot Darwin, it displays the above error message a few times, and then this one for about a quarter of a second before going to another screen:

System Config File '/com.apple.boot.Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration.com,apple.boot.plist' not found

it might be slightly off, I had to go through the error messages a few dozen times as it displayed that message for only a quarter of a second.

please feel free to ask me anything to help you.

Darwin 5.0.132

Chameleon 1.0.11

computer specs:

Dell XPS 420 BIOS version V06

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 2.66GHz

Nvidia 9800GTX+

Hi delphinus87

You need to change bios settings of your motherboard or get modified bios for some motherboards, like Asus. For the first choice google it. But I post that settings many months ago for other hackintosh user. I´m using a Asus P5Q with modified bios and settings almost default. Leopard and Snow Leopard works real good. Without bios change MACOSX86 is gonna be painful.
