Hello everybody!

Seems that the euphoria from possibly having Vista and Mac on one PC is starting to fade away, as it's already the 20th attempt to get the JaS Mac OS X 10.4.8 running...

Hardware seems compatible:

HP Laptop dv6-1235

Core2Duo 2.2GHZ P7550

4GB of DDR2 RAM

512 ATI Graphics Card

Well, I've seen lots of tutorials on YouTube and tried to follow one of them, which is said to be working for all the people, except for me... First I downloaded this JaS version of Mac and burned it on a DVD. Then I created a partition for it and marked it as active, restarted and booted the DVD.

First surprise: Kernel panic... Successfully fixed it by adding "-v cpus=1" in Darwin - installation proceeded.

Second surprise: Disk Utility refused to "erase" the specified partition, renaming it to "dskOs3part" or similar... Googled for it, fixed it by formatting the partition with "create partition primary id=af" option. Disk Utility seemed to recognize the partition right away, repaired it a lil' bit and allowed me to go on with the installation. After 20 min of prayer the restart dialogue finally appeared. Fingers-crossed, I pressed "Restart"... HP booting screen, and then... Snap - the Vista boot menu. OK, started Vista, loaded Easy BCD and added Mac x86Generic PC, saved. Restarted...

Last surprise: Mac OS X appeared in boot menu - gave me chain booting error. Booted the DVD - gave me no boot choice for Mac at all. MacDrive is showing that the partition is quite full with Mac-related folders - looks like Mac installed properly (except boot). Tried to mess up with Easy BCD a little bit, ended up getting a Windows error upon Mac booting  .

In other words, I can't find any way to boot in the Mac OS...  ;)

Have I done anything wrong during the installation? Because I've read about many people having absolutely no problems with this Mac version on their HP laptops...

Is there a possible, easy (!) way to fix it?  (As I'm, let's say, a not "very" experienced user ;) )

Thanks in advance for your help!  :D
