I'm pulling my hair out over this. I can't seem to get anything to boot.

So far, I've tried using Chameleon and PC-EFI 10/10.1 to boot both a 10.5.1 retail and 10.6 retail disc, and both of them fail at different points. I've searched for everything I could find relating to booting these discs, but nothing seems to work. I've built an installer key for a Latitude E6400 which works on every E6400 I've installed Snow Leopard on thus far, but even with a patched dsdt.aml, I can't get it to boot my M2400 either.

Has anyone tried (or succeeded in) installing Leopard or Snow Leopard on an M2400?

What I've done:

- Boot retail 10.5.1 DVD using boot-132 disc

- Boot retail 10.5.1 and 10.6 DVDs using PCEFI 10/10.1 from CD

- Boot retail 10.5.1 and 10.6 DVDs using Chameleon 2RC3 from USB (imagedumped DVDs to USB drive)

1. No modified kexts or extra kexts causes kernel panic immediately, alluding to ACPI

2. Using modified kexts from my E6400 10.6.1 install causes the system to hang during boot, right around the time it's initializing the network adapters:

"ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin::start - waitForService(resourceMatching(AppleIntelCPUPowerMnagement) timed out

3. Removing AppleACPIPlatform.kext causes immediate panic

4. Removing AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext causes kernel panic during CPU initialization ("no HPET" error)

If anyone can help, it'd be much appreciated.

Hey, I'm struggling with the same machine right now. However I have had a little more success than you. Here's what ive done so far

iDeneb 1.4 (10.5.6)

-ICHxFixed

-Intel 82566 Series

-Battery Manager

-Power Off_Fix

-IDT (audio)

This gets everything to work except the video. Video is locked at one resolution and dual monitors is not supported. The forums have nothing on this machine and I'm happy to see there are more of us. The video card is the NVidea Quadro FX 370M if you're curious, but that has gotten me no where. The forum only makes one mention of it. I've tried NVKush and NVEnabler with no success. Maybe you can make more sense out of it than I can. I'll let you know if I make any progress.

Everything works except graphics. I can't get QE/CI working. I've tried

- NVkush

- NVdarwin

- NVInject

- NVInjectGo

- NVEnabler

- Natit

- Vanilla + Chameleon GraphicsEnabler

- Vanilla + EFI strings

- DSDT mod

- All of the above + GraphicsEnabler

- All of the above + EFI strings

- All of the above + dsdt mod

I'm at the end of my rope as far as graphics goes. There's nothing left to test, unless someone can point me in a direction I haven't gone yet. Resolution is fine, being set to native 1440x900 in com.apple.boot.plist, but I can't get get the system to recognize my graphics card (NVIDIA Quadro FX 370M) no matter what method I use.

Hardware ID is 0x06fb, vendor is 0x10de (NVIDIA standard I believe). I've added the product IDs to pretty much every NVIDIA-related kext I could find, and still nothing.

I should also note that I'm using a modified IOGraphicsFamily.kext that came on a prebuilt boot-132 disc, and my machine refuses to boot without it. If I remove IOGraphicsFamily.kext from Extra/Extensions, I get a kernel panic during boot.

Anybody?

Same problem here, everything's fine but graphic acceleration. This is killing me, I tried about everything.

I've all but given up on the M2400 for now. I'm going back to the M4400 in a few weeks, and since the M2400 is just an E6400 with slightly better graphics, I don't feel it important enough to pursue anymore. :D

Any success? I have that machine also and having the same issues...

No, I'm now running an M4400 instead. I don't know what was up with the M2400, but I finally got my hands on the 4400 at work, and now that's my primary machine. I've been running SL on that almost flawlessly for some time now, though the sleep/shutdown/restart issue still exists. It's not working 100%, as I don't have PC-Card, ExpressCard or SDHC working yet, but all the important stuff works and works well.

If you look at the M4400, this guide will get you started: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=194738

Indeed after year, any luck now guys?

I've only tried snow leopard within vmware, couldnt activate QE/CI obviously. Should I try on my M2400 now, it still seems that nvidia FX 370m is a hard stone to be driven up...

any suggestions welcome! Thx! ;)

I even couldnt answer you question, but could you get the graphic card the nvidia quadro FX 370m fully driven up now?
