baylorbear
My apologies if this isn't the most appropriate place to post this topic -- I tried posting in the hardware forum but for some reason none of my posts are showing up when I submit them. ------------------------------------- I installed Kalyway 10.5.2 about a year or so ago on my computer... but since that time, things have changed considerably. Enter new system specs. I've tried to be as completely thorough as possible in listing my system specs, and they are posted below my post in the signature line. The problem is that I don't know whether my hardware is to blame for the problems I've been having... or is it perhaps that I should be using something more up-to-date that Kalyway 10.5.2? I hate to keep spinning my wheels if the hardware is going to dead-end me before I even get off the ground. I've spent an embarassingly long time online the past week searching for specific answers to my hardware question but without any success. I've tried installing Kalyway every which way... from all the boot flags to turning off features in BIOS and removing PCI cards from my machine. Every time I get stuck at the "waiting for root" prompt. I've ALSO tried this method: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=113288 but without much luck. I used my wife's 10.5 discs that came with her Mac Mini earlier this year -- but I've also found some posts online that say the discs that come with the computer won't work. I consider myself pretty resourceful, so if I could get some help getting off the ground and pointed in the right direction, I think I can find what I need. Any help that anyone has to offer is greatly appreciated.
